Defensive and Advanced Driving Courses. The driver training is one to one with the instructor for the whole course duration and is carried out in your own car. You will learn advanced driving methods that will help to improve your awareness and observation skills out on the road in all traffic and weather conditions and also guide you toward becoming a smoother and more accurate driver. All the theory is based on the Police system of car control as set out in “Roadcraft”. Advanced driver training has been proved to reduce driver stress, improve and prolong driver alertness, improved fuel consumption, reduce tyre wear and also reduce general wear and tear on your vehicle. Advanced Driving Test You can also progress on to take an advanced driving test which is recognised by insurance companies and employers. There are two possible tests, that of RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), or the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists). To give yourself the best chance of passing the test with a good grade it is recommended that you take between six and twelve hours of training, whilst practising in all your driving, and also reading “Roadcraft” and the Highway Code. And that's not all - an often overlooked reason for taking the test is the challenge of improving your driving. You will be proud of your achievement, become more skilful and more confident as your driving is safer and more systematic.
